Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru known reverentially as Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar Swami, the best among men, who has conquered the senses and vanquished all material desires.

Śrī yōgirāmārya suratkumāra pūjyābhidhābhyāṁ puruṣōttamābhyāṁ |
jitēndriyābhyāṁ jitakāmanābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrī gurupādukābhyām || 1 ||

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who delights in singing aloud the name “Sri Rama”, who took up the vow of protecting the helpless and who is quite well-known for his act of granting all the things desired by people who kneel before him.

Śrīrāma samkīrtanamōdanābhyāṁ dīnārtarakṣāvidhr̥tavratābhyāṁ |
natēṣṭadānaprathitapradābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 2 ||

Salutations (नम:) and salutations (नम:) to the divine (श्री) pair of sandals (पादुका sandal; पादुके pair of sandals; पादुकाभ्यां to the pair of sandals) of my spiritual preceptor (गुरु), Yogi Ramsuratkumar;

Who delights (मोदन) in singing aloud (सम्कीर्तन) the name “Sri Rama” (श्रीराम);

Who took (विधृत) up the vow (व्रत) of protecting (रक्षा) the helpless (दीन) and unhappy people (आर्त);

Who is the giver (प्रदा), quite well-known (प्रथित) for his act of granting (दान) all the things desired (इष्ट) by people who kneel (नत) before him.

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who is inside the lotus called yogic concentration, who is the chief means of crossing the ocean of worldly existence and whose mind is delighted in multitudes of good and virtuous people.

Samādhi yōgāmbuja madhyagābhyāṁ sansāra santāraṇa kāraṇābhyāṁ |
satsādhu saṅghapriya mānasābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 3 ||

Who abides in the middle (मध्यग; middle मध्य; abides ग) of the lotus (अम्बुज) called yogic (योग) concentration (समाधि);

Who is the chief means (कारण) of crossing (संतारण) the ocean of worldly existence (संसार);

Whose mind (मनस्) is delighted (प्रिय) in multitudes (संघ) of good and virtuous people (सत्साधु).

समाधि योगाम्बुज मध्यगाभ्यां संसार संतारण कारणाभ्याम् |

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who has attained the status beyond the three Gunas (sattva, rajas and tamas), who is benign with a smile that can confer divine wisdom and whose eyes repel as it were, those who are not good and genial.

Guṇātirēkasthiti bhājanābhyāṁ prajñānadātr̥smitamañjulābhyāṁ |
saumyētaradvēṣi vilōcanābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 4 ||

Who has attained (भाजन) the status (स्थिति) beyond (अतिरेक) the three qualities (गुण) namely Sattva, Rajas and Tamas;

Who is charming (मञ्जुल) with a smile (स्मित) that can confer (दातृ) divine wisdom (प्रज्ञान);

Whose eyes (विलोचन) are enemies (द्वेषि) of those who are different from (इतर) good and genial people (सौम्य).

गुणातिरेकस्थिति भाजनाभ्यां प्रज्ञानदातृस्मितमञ्जुलाभ्याम् |

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who is well-established (seated comfortably) on a fabulous gem-studded seat (yogaasana) which is embellished on either side by a pair of lamps and who can confer prosperity on the entire creation.

Yōgāsanē ratnamayē mahār’hē dīpadvayālaṅkr̥tapārśvayugmē |
pratiṣṭhitābhyāṁ bhavabhūtidābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 5 ||

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who is honoured (by his devotees who offer) articles of worship, water to wash the feet and holy water for sipping, who is dressed well and adorned.

Arghyēṇa pādyēna supūtatōyai: Ācāmanīyaiśca supūjitābhyāṁ |
vastrān̄citābhyāṁ ca svalaṅkr̥tābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 6 ||

Salutations (नम:) and salutations (नम:) to the divine (श्री) pair of sandals (पादुका sandal; पादुके pair of sandals; पादुकाभ्यां to the pair of sandals) of my spiritual preceptor (गुरु), Yogi Ramsuratkumar;

Who is honoured (सुपूजित; nicely सु; worshipped पूजित) by being offered Arghya (अर्घ्य) which is the water that is offered to guests as a mark of respectful reception, by being offered water to wash the feet which is referred to as Paadya (पाद्य) and by being offered the holy water (सुपूततोय; सु very; पूत holy; तोय water) for the sipping done for purification, which is referred to as Aachamaniya (आचमनीय);

Who is well-dressed (वस्त्रांचित) (dress वस्त्र; adored अञ्चित) and (च) well-adorned (स्वलंकृत; सु rightly; अलङ्कृत decorated).

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who sings aloud the nectarine names of Sri Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman (the son of Wind God) and Sri Rama and whose glory lies in removing the sins of people who resort to him.

Śrījānakīlakṣmaṇavāyuputra śrīrāma nāmāmr̥ta kirtanābhyāṁ |
pāpāpanōdaśritavaibhavābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 7 ||

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who is always eager to perform various kinds of services to Sri Rama such as singing His glories and dancing (in ecstasy), and who removes the difficulties of worldly existence.

Sadaiva saṅkīrtananartanādiśrīrāmasēvāsu samutsukābhyāṁ |
samsārasaṅkaṣṭanivāraṇābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 8 ||

Salutations (नम:) and salutations (नम:) to the divine (श्री) pair of sandals (पादुका sandal; पादुके pair of sandals; पादुकाभ्यां to the pair of sandals) of my spiritual preceptor (गुरु), Yogi Ramsuratkumar;

Who is always (सदैव; सदा always எப்பொழுதும்; सदा एव always certainly எப்பொழுதுமே) very eager (सम्+उत्सुक) to perform various kinds of services (सेवा) to Sri Rama (श्रीराम) by singing (संकीर्तन) His glories and dancing (नर्तन) in ecstasy, etc. (आदि)

Who removes (निवारण) the difficulties (संकष्ट) of worldly existence (संसार).

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who has in his hands a vessel made out of coconut shell and a fan made out of palmyrah leaves; and who has on his glorious chest, a beautiful yoga-cloth.

Karaṇḍapātrāttakarānvitābhyāṁ śrī tālavr̥ntavyajanānvitābhyāṁ |
śrīyōgavastrān̄cita hr̥ttalābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 9 ||

Who is endowed with (अन्वित) a fan (व्यजन) made out of the holy (श्री) palmyrah (ताल) stalks (वृन्त);

Who has the divine (श्री) yogic (योग) cloth (वस्त्र) on the surface (तल) of his glorious (अञ्चित) chest (हृद्).

Whose chest (हृत्तल; chest हृद्; surface तल) is adored (अञ्चित) by the divine (श्री) yogic (योग) cloth (वस्त्र)

करण्डपात्रात्तकरान्विताभ्यां श्री तालवृन्तव्यजनान्विताभ्याम् |

श्रीयोगवस्त्राञ्चित हृत्तलाभ्यां नमो नम: श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् || ९ ||

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who blesses (his devotees) with powers of discrimination, (spiritual) wisdom and (secular) knowledge, who is a boat helping to cross the ocean of worldly miseries, and who is full of compassion for the suffering devotees.

Vivēkavijñānamatipradābhyāṁ samsārapīḍātaraṇōḍupābhyāṁ |
santaptabhaktēṣu dayāparābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 10 ||

Iṣṭārthasiddipradavaibhavābhyāṁ sansārarōgādivināśanābhyāṁ |
svabhaktavargēṣu dayānvitābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 12 ||

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who confers auspiciousness, education, money and grains, who dispels the confusion etc. of his good disciples and who grants them good thinking, good conduct and noble virtues.

Kalyāṇa vidyā dhana dhān’yadābhyāṁ sacchiṣyamōhādivināśanābhyāṁ |
sadbud’dhi sacchīla guṇa pradābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 13 ||

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who prevents infatuation and jealousy, teaches very well the Upanishadic doctrines and who showers the wealth of good conduct and humility (upon his disciples).

Vyāmōha mātsarya nivāraṇābhyāṁ vēdānta sid’dhānta subōdhakābhyāṁ |
ācārasampad vinayapradābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 14 ||

Salutations again and again to the pair of sandals of the adorable Guru who shows compassion, destroys (the evil effects of) the Kali Yuga, putting an end to the group of six (internal) enemies starting with Kaama (lust), (Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada and Maatsarya are the remaining five enemies), who is full of kindness and whose glances are compassionate.

Kāruṇyadābhyāṁ kalināśanābhyāṁ kāmādiṣaḍvarga nivāraṇābhyāṁ |
dayāparābhyāṁ dayamānadr̥gbhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 15 ||

Sēvārthi martyaiśca parīvr̥tābhyāṁ bhaktairjanai: Sanstutavaibhavābhyāṁ |
dīnārtarakṣaikakr̥tādarābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 18 ||

Śrīrāmadāsāryagurō: Sakāśāt varōpadēśēna mahattamēna |
śrīrāmamantrēṇa tapōdhanābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrīgurupādukābhyām || 19 ||

Who became a great ascetic, whose wealth itself is religious austerities (तपोधन; तप: austerities; धन wealth) because of the superlative greatness (महत्तम; महत् great; तम superlative) achieved due to chanting the Sri Rama (श्रीराम) Mantra (मन्त्र) and due to the excellent (वर) teachings (उपदेश) obtained in the presence (सकाश; due to the proximity सकाशात्) of his Guru (गुरु), the noble (आर्य) Sri Ramdas (श्री रामदास);

Another interpretation – Who became a great ascetic due to the greatest Rama mantra, which is the excellent teaching obtained in the presence of his noble Guru, Sri Ramdas.  CHECK

Another version of the sloka: who is like the fruit of the merits acquired by the living beings abiding in all the three worlds.

In this version of the sloka: who is ready for the protection of the helpless.

Śrī rāmamantra śruti pāragābhyāṁ duṣkr̥tyaduścintanadūragābhyāṁ |
anātha sanrakṣaṇa dīkṣitābhyāṁ namō nama: Śrī gurupādukābhyām || 27 ||

Those who read this sacred hymn on the sandals of the adorable Guru every day will certainly attain the pleasurable things of (earthly) life in abundance and also bliss (in the other world), in addition to good education (divine knowledge) and loving devotion to their gurus and God.

Those people (मानुषा:) in this earth (भुवि; भुवनम् earth) who (ये) read (पठन्ति) this sacred (शुभम्) hymn (स्तवम्) on the sandals (पादुका) of the adorable (श्री) Guru (गुरु) every day (नित्यम्) will certainly (ध्रुवम्) attain (लभन्ते) the things which cause enjoyment of pleasure (सुखभोगजातम्; सुख pleasure भोग enjoyment जातम् that which has become) and also happiness (सौख्यम्), in addition to good education (divine knowledge) (विद्याम्) and (च) loving devotion (भक्तिम्) to their gurus (गुरु) and God (दैव)

Śubhaṁ stavaṁ śrī gurupādukāyā: Paṭhanti nityaṁ bhuvimānuṣā yē |
dhruvaṁ labhantē sukhabhōgajātaṁ saukhyaṁ ca vidyāṁ gurudaiva bhaktim || 29 ||

शुभं स्तवं श्री गुरुपादुकाया: पठन्ति नित्यं भुविमानुषा ये |

ध्रुवं लभन्ते सुखभोगजातं सौख्यं च विद्यां गुरुदैव भक्तिम् || २९ ||

By repeatedly chanting these verses (composed) on the holy sandals of the adorable Guru which correspond with the the asterisms, people will attain enhanced wisdom, capacity to discriminate (between the right and the wrong), freedom from grave dangers and abundance of money and grains, all due to the grace of the Guru (Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar Yogi Maharaj) himself.

Nakṣatrapadyai: Gurupādukāyā: Vijñānavr̥d’dhin̄ca vivēkapuṣṭiṁ |
vipannivr̥ttiṁ dhanadhān’yavr̥d’dhiṁ japāllabhantē ca gurō: Prasādāt || 30 ||

By the grace (प्रसादात्; grace प्रसाद) of the Guru (गुरु), Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar Yogi Maharaj himself, by repeatedly chanting (जपात्; जप chanting) these 27 verses (composed) on the holy sandals (पादुका) of the adorable Guru (गुरु: ; guru’s गुरो: ) which correspond with the 27 asterisms or stars (नक्षत्रपद्य; नक्षत्र stars; पद्य verses), people will attain (लभन्ते) enhanced (वृद्धि) wisdom (विज्ञान), and (च) capacity (पुष्टि) to discriminate (विवेक) (between the right and the wrong), prevention (निवृत्ति) of grave dangers (विपत्) and (च) abundance (वृद्धि) of money (धन) and grains (धान्य)

Chandas or the meter of this Sanskrit Poem:

Each verse has 4 padams. Each padam has 11 syllables. In Metrical Scheme, Guru (long sound like आ) is represented by “-“ and Lagu (short sound like अ) is represented by “u”.  The meter used to compose the verses is upajaati vruttam which is a combination of upendravajraavruttam (u – u  – – u  u – u  –   – ) and indravajraavruttam (- – u – – u u – u – -).
