Additional Notes:

The salutations mentioned in the beginning could differ for each family.
The first one should be श्रीः. After this, the picture of Narasimhar has to be given for Ahobila Mutt followers. Under that, the Namam to be given. Note that it has to be under Perumal as Naamam indicates the paaduka. (Make sure you have the right naamam for Vadakalai, and not the Tengalai one).

śrī-bhūmi-nīḻā-sameta-śrī-lakṣmīnṛsiṃha-parabrahmaṇe namaḥ ।

The first and foremost one should be the Narasimhar with his two Devis. Note that until Parabrahmane it is a single word. Sometimes, for easy readability, spaces are included within the individual parts. Here the individual parts of the compound word is shown with Hyphens.

śrī-alarmelmaṅgā-nāyikā-sameta-śrī-śrīnivāsa-parabrahmaṇe namaḥ ।

In this case, since the groom’s family is going to use the same invitation, their family deity is included which is Tirupati Venkatesha Perumal. If included, Tirupati Perumal needs to be mentioned first, before the family deity is mentioned.

śrī-kalyāṇa-veṅkaṭaramaṇa-svāmine namaḥ ।

In this case, the family deity of the bride is Taantondrimalai Kalyaana Venkata Ramana Swamy.

śrīmadbhyaḥ parāṅkuśa-parakālādibhyo namaḥ ।

Paraankusha is another name of Namaalvaar, the first of 12 alwars. It is derived from Para and Ankusha. It means one who is like a goad (ankusha) to the rivals (para) i.e., the worldly minded people.

Parakaala is another name of Tirumangai Aalwar, who was the last of the 12 alwars. Tirumangai Alwar got this name as a title for his valour. Para+Kaala means one who is the ultimate destroyer, i.e., the God of Death (Kaala) for his opponents (Para).

It is interesting to note that Namaalwar and Tirumangai Aalwar imagined themselves to be ladies (Naayikaa or Naayakee) and expressed their love for Bhagavan (Naayaka). While expressing the Naayakee Bhaava in their hymns, Nammazhwar becomes Parankusha Nayaki and Tirumangai Azhwar is Parakala Nayaki.

The term Aadi means “and others”. Due to Sanskrit Grammer Sandhi rules, This salutations is addressed towards all the Alwars. Shree is usually added in the beginning of the names. When it is separated out in salutations like this, it becomes “Srimate” meaning to him. Since this one addresses numerous alwars, Srimate has become Srimadbhyah, in the plural form.

Note that this salutations is not related to the Parakaala Mutt. It only conveys our respects to all the 12 Alwars.

These are the salutations to the recent Aacharyas of Ahobila Mutt, who are referred to as Srimad Azhagiya Singar.

The first Azhagiya Singar mentioned here is the 43rd Pattam Sri Veeraraghava Satakopa Yatindra Mahadesikan, the first direct aacharyan (1953-1957) for the person on whose behalf the wedding invitation is being sent. Starting with the 43rd Pattam, all the Azhagiya Singar until the present Aacharyan are mentioned here namely 44th Pattam Sri Vedanta Desika Yatindra Mahadesikan, 45th Pattam Srivan Satakopa Sri Narayana Yathindra Mahadesikan, the present 46th Pattam Srivan Satakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Mahadesikan.

Some more Do’s and Don’ts

Sri Rama Jayam is usually mentioned in Smaarta wedding invites only. It is not required in Iyengar invitations.
Some invitations have Lakshmi and Saraswati on the two sides of the border design. In Vaishnava Sampradaayam, Taayaar is not included separately like that.

When referring to himself, the person who is inviting, uses terms like “adiyen” and “daasan”. The terms like “Shreemaan”, “Iyengar”, etc., which are used to convey respect, is avoided while referring to one’s own self.
