हिमगिरि-तनये हेमलते ।

अम्ब ईश्वरि श्रीललिते मामव ।

[पल्लवी] (हे) हिमगिरि-तनये ! हेमलते ! अम्ब ! ईश्वरि ! श्रीललिते ! (त्वं) माम् अव ।

हिमगिरि-तनये O Paarvatee, the daughter (तनया) of Himavaan (हिमगिरि)! हेमलते O Hemalataa (हेमलता), who is tender and glowing like the golden (हेम) vine (लता)! अम्ब O Mother (अम्बा)! ईश्वरि O Goddess Eeshvaree (ईश्वरी)! श्रीललिते O Goddess Sreelalitaa (श्रीललिता)! अव You protect माम् me.
[अव – अव्., लोट्., म.पु. । माम् – अस्मद्, द्वि. वि. ।] 

रमा-वाणी-संसेविते सकले ।

राजराजेश्वरि राम-सहोदरि ।

[अनुपल्लवी] (हे) रमा-वाणी-संसेविते ! सकले ! राजराजेश्वरि ! राम-सहोदरि ! (त्वं माम् अव) ।

रमा-वाणी-संसेविते O one nicely served (संसेविता) by Lakshmee (रमा) and Saraswatee (वाणी)! सकले O complete one (सकला) having all the 16 divine qualities, Shoodashakalaa! राजराजेश्वरि O the Supreme Goddess Raajaraajeshvaree (राज-राज-ईश्वरी)! राम-सहोदरि O sister (सहोदरी) of Raama, who is Sriman Naaraayana (राम)! अव You protect माम् me.

पाशाङ्कुशेक्षुदन्डकरे अम्ब

परात्परे निज-भक्त-परे ।

[चरणम्…] पाशाङ्कुशेक्षुदन्डकरे ! अम्ब ! परात्परे ! निज-भक्त-परे !  …

पाश-अङ्कुश-इक्षुदन्डकरे  O one (पाश-अङ्कुश-इक्षुदन्डकरा) who has in her hand (कर) noose (पाश), hook (अङ्कुश) and the cane of Sugarcane (इक्षु-दन्ड) ! अम्ब O Mother (अम्बा) ! परात्परे O one who is superior than the best (परात्-परा) ! निज-भक्त-परे O one who is ever engaged (परा) in (taking care of) one’s (निज) devotees (भक्त)! ….

आशाम्बरे हरिकेश-विलासे

आनन्द-रूपे अमित-प्रतापे ।

[…चरणम्] … आशा-अम्बरे ! हरिकेश-विलासे ! आनन्द-रूपे ! अमित-प्रतापे ! (त्वं माम् अव) ।

… आशा-अम्बरे O Aashaambaraa (आशाम्बरा), the consort of Shiva (आशाम्बर), one for whom the directions (आशा) are the clothes (अम्बर)! हरिकेश-विलासे O one who delights (विलासा) Harikesha, the author of this song (हरिकेश)! आनन्द-रूपे O Embodiment (रूपा) of Bliss (आनन्द)! अमित-प्रतापे O one who possesses splendor (प्रतापा) that is limitless (अमित)! अव You protect माम् me.

Harikeshanalloor Mutthiah Bhaagavatar is a famous twentieth-century composers of almost 400 compositions in Telugu, Tamil, Sanskrit and Kannada. He had also created about 20 raagas. Sangeeta Kalpa Drumam is his treatise on musical theory. Tyagaraaja Vijaya Kaavya is his Sanskrit poetic work.

In this song, the different names of the Goddess (in Samboodhana Prathamaa Vibhakti or Vocative words) are being called out like a Naamaavali and Her blessings are sought.

हिमगिरि-तनया, हेमलता, अम्बा, ईश्वरी, श्रीललिता,

रमा-वाणी-संसेविता, सकला, राजराजेश्वरी, राम-सहोदरी,

पाश-अङ्कुश-इक्षुदन्ड-करा, परात्परा, निज-भक्त-परा,

आशा-अम्बरा, आनन्द-रूपा, अमित-प्रतापा !
